Thanks!

Friday, May 29th, 2009

I appreciate the encouragement from those who blog to tell me that they like my blog. Thank you. I hope to keep you informed about good books to read. Of course, being a romance writer myself, most of the books I recommend are romance or romantic suspense. And just for your information. Most writers really struggle. It’s not with the writing they struggle, but getting published. It is not easy, unless you are a politician or someone already famous. The rest of us have to cope with a lot of rejection and many readers don’t know much about e-books. Electronically published books are the wave of the future. There are handheld devices that are no bigger than a paperback and weigh no more. Of course, like the calculators once, they cost a lot of money still. But trust me, e-books are well written and the publishers of e-books give their authors a wider spectrum of creativity than conventional publishers. So next time you are looking for a good book, go to Amazon.com or www.newconceptspublishing.com or www.awe-struck.net and see what they have to offer. BTW my new novel,The Ultimate Betrayal, out since March, received 4 -1/2 cherries today and a chance to be voted best book of the week:-) Come visit me any time. If you have a question, don’t hesitate to ask. Until next time

Happy thursday morning.

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

t’s a glorious morning. Just want to let everyone know once more that I am in charge of my blog site:-) If I do not approve of your comment, I am able to delete it, so those who want to leave nasty messages, save your time. It’s a shame that people with talent to hack into other people’s computers don’t spend their time helping others. There are lots of kids and older people who could use some computer knowledge. Take care until next time

Another recommended read

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

I am starting to get into the swing of things. Here is another suggestion for your reading pleasure. America’s Hero. Written by Regan Taylor, it is available at www.Champagnebooks.com in print as well as in e-book. For more Regan Taylor books you can check out her web site www.ReganTaylor.com Here is a small tidbit to whet your appetite.–When Marine Corps Major Cass Winters is forced to crash land her F/A 18 during a daring rescue mission, she wants nothing more than to climb back into her fighter jet and get back to the business of flying. Hollywood Hottie Austin Quinn reads her story and decides to bring it to the big screen –with him playing the part of the Major. And that is where reality takes a detour into the paranormal. Ms. Taylor takes you right to the walls of Troy moments before the Trojan horse is presented to the Trojans. The Greeks believe Austin to be Archilles and Cass the lovely Briseis. And that is where I will leave off:-) If you want to know the ending, I suggest you buy the novel and enjoy it at your leisure.

Memorial Day

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Today is Memorial Day and it breaks my heart, when they show the rows and rows of military graves. There are no winners in war. I don’t know who said this, but it is true. No one wins. God bless our troops and keep them safe. On a lighter note, I would like to tell you about the new Native Indian novel Black Eagle. Karen Kay is the author, but she now writes under the name of Gen Bailey. Karen is an outstanding author and I highly recommend her novels. They are full of Indian lore and customs. Karen carefully researches her facts. Black Eagle is available at your local bookstores at $7.99 Have a wonderful holiday and think of the troops, who keep us safe. Take care

News!

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Hi, everybody. Don’t be shy to leave me a message, just make it so it pertains to the subject, by which I mean writing and books. BTW I will have a new novel coming out with New Concepts Publishing in June. The Cabochon Ring takes place in Germany. It’s based on folklore. If you buy it and read it, I will answer any questions you may have. And yes, there were robber barons at that time and the descendants of the original family still live in that castle. In August my novel Pirate Child will be published. It is based on the life of real pirate Anne Bonny. Until next time, take care

Summer rains

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

It looks as if Florida is in for its summer rains. We certainly need the rain, though the storms kind of make it difficult at times, when you write. Yesterday the storm threw me off the PC in a hurry:-) So be patient for the next review. I am still evaluating the story. One thing is for sure. When you are told by editors that romance is supposed to be more than 50% of the story, then this novel should not have been published as a romance. Not to say it is not interesting reading. Take care until next time

Just returned from a week’s vacation

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Hi everyone, just returned from a week’s vacation in St. Simon, GA and Savannah, GA. Love both places for their friendliness, their outstanding cuisine and their love for pets. Yes, if you don’t like my dog, don’t bother trying to like me LOL St. Simon is a lovely place, where you can relax and gather your thoughts, it is also where author Euginia Price used to reside before her death. Also visited downtown Brunswick and met a lovely lady named Janet. Don’t want to mention her last name:-) when she was walking her Cavalier Spaniel and we were taking our Springer for a walk. And I doubt I need to extol the marvels of Savannah. Southern hospitality at its finest and so many things to see and experience. Well, I am back and I will write a review shortly about the novel I am currently reading.  Take care until then.

It’s amazing that we are already in the merry month of May.

Down here in Florida the temperatures have climbed into the high 80s and I know they won’t go down again until mid October. I will be away from the PC for a few days, soaking up sun at the beach. I will report when I get back. Take care
